Zapletalová, Petra ; Kulhavá, Miluše (advisor) ; Lukášová Jeřábková, Lenka (referee)
This thesis deals with methods used for childhood obese patient education. It is further devoted to the creation of new educational resource to help fight the childhood obesity. This educational material has been prepared on a similar basis as the educational material for diabetic patients called Conversation maps TM. The theoretical part is dedicated to three main topics. First of all it analyzes risk factors influencing progression of the child obesity, prevention and treatment of this disease. Secondly, the theme of education is further elaborated. Finally, the third main topic is focused specifically on education in childhood obesitology and educational materials dealing with this issue. Quality of childhood obesity prevention and its specific impact on children aged 11-15 years is assessed in practical part. This part was realized using quantitative research, where I used an anonymous non-standardized questionnaire (which contained 14 questions) to gather the necessary data. The aim of the questionnaire was to find two facts. First, I was wondering where the children got accurate information about a healthy lifestyle. This finding has influenced the formation of educational material. Second, I was wondering what the real dietary habits of children aged 11-15 years are. The survey shows that...
Education of a midwife on the use of contraceptive methods in women after childbirth.
FALÁŘOVÁ, Eva
At present, family planning and availability of contraception have become a part of life. Therefore midwives need to be educated in this area to be able to provide mothers after childbirth with quality information concerning this issue within nursing care. The main aim of this thesis was to identify the quality of midwives´ education regarding contraception after childbirth and to find out how midwives orient themselves in contraceptive methods that may be used in confinement and breastfeeding periods. Another objective was to determine whether mothers after childbirth are well informed about the choice of appropriate contraceptives, and whether a midwife has an important role in educating mothers about contraception after childbirth. Research questions and hypotheses to meet the aims were stated. To carry out this survey a qualitative research with the combination of a quantitative research was conducted. The qualitative research was carried out by an interview technique. Interviews were conducted with midwives in the department of gynecology and obstetrics in Strakonice hospital, Inc., with midwives from consulting rooms of gynecologists in Vodňany, Vimperk and České Budějovice and midwives providing field care in Strakonice, Tábor and Písek areas. The survey was conducted in March and April 2011. The quantitative research study was carried out in consulting rooms of gynecologists in Strakonice, Vodňany and České Budějovice. To find the answers the technique of an anonymous questionnaire with 30 questions was used. Respondents were women after childbirth coming to consulting rooms of gynecologists for a check up after the confinement period. The total number of respondents was 121 (100%). The survey was conducted in March and April 2011. The stated aims of the thesis were met. The qualitative research has shown that midwives orient themselves in methods of contraception. They apply this knowledge only when they see interest in mothers. Based on the quantitative research it is possible to set up two hypotheses. Hypothesis 1, which was confirmed: Mothers after childbirth are educated to take an appropriate choice of contraception after childbirth. Hypothesis 2, that was not confirmed: According to the interviewed mothers, a midwife does not have an important role in education on the selection of appropriate contraception after childbirth. In spite of the fact that education on family planning and contraception is a matter of midwives´ job, midwives do not have an important role in education concerning this issue. Key information is provided by a doctor. Therefore, based on findings and results of the research, an educational plan and educational standards for education of midwives in primary care were made up.

KREJČÍ, Lenka
The Making and Use of Educational Cards in the Job of a Nurse at the Surgical Ward The objective of the present work called ?The Making and Use of Educational Cards in the Job of a Nurse at the Surgical Ward? is to propose a unification, consolidation and simplification of information given to a client so that the educational process might be transparent, effective and acceptable for general (patient) public. At the beginning of the research the author set four goals: Goal 1: To find out whether the education of clients prior to selected surgical procedures is effective or not; Goal 2: To find out the methods of education of clients at the surgical ward prior to selected surgical procedures as viewed by nurses; Goal 3: To make (create) an educational means (educational cards) for clients prior to selected surgical procedures. Goal 4: To check the created educational means in the nursing practice. The author also set three questions for her inquiry: Question 1: What knowledge do clients have prior to the surgical procedure for a successful postoperative development? Question 2: What educational methods do nurses apply with clients prior to surgical procedures? Question 3: What positive aspects do clients perceive when working with educational cards? The inquiry took place in the Znojmo Hospital with the matron?s kind permission. To achieve successful results in her work, the author applied qualitative examination, the method of a questionnaire, the technique of a non-standardized interview. The object of the inquiry consisted of clients and nurses of the surgical ward. Having analysed the answers of all respondents, the author put together and subsequently checked in practice educational cards for clients prior to surgical procedures. The results of the present bachelor work can be used further in practice, e.g. the created educational cards can be left at the surgical ward at patients? disposal for the whole period of their hospitalization. Is to propose a unification, consolidation and simplification of information given to a client so that the educational process might be transparent, effective and acceptable for general (patient) public.
The realization of educational program at patient with diagnosis of cardiac infarction
MATUCHOVÁ, Mária
This Bachelor´s work deals with educational programmes for patients with recognised myocardial infarction. Even if the circulatory system mortality rate has been decreasing steadily, it remains quite high compared to other EU states. Thousands of people can be successfuly treated thanks to developing diagnostic and therapeutic opportunities. On the other hand, no treatment is effective enough without active clients´ cooperation. Higher attention, however, should be paid to the prevention. Medical and nursing staff care is to focus on patients´ treatment and their education so that they could cooperate actively in realisation, prevention and treatment processes. A client can get basic pieces of information during his stay in hospital and he takes them up again while being a client of out-patient cardiologic departments. Usually, educational process is not organised very well which provides bad or no continuity of medical and nursing care. The aim of this research survey has been to find out the sources which the clients use for getting information, and what attention is paid to educational programmes. The hypotheses assumed at the beginning are as follows: Clients are mostly informed by nurses and find most information in magazines and brochures. Clients, with a prevailing number of women, realise the educational programme. The research survey has had theses findings. The first two hypotheses has been disproved while the other two were proved. Clients get most information verbally which means that they prefer personal communication. Concerning the other two hypotheses, the educational programme is observed by most patients with a prevailing number of women. So the hypotheses has been proved. The findings obtained from this Bachelor´s work are very useful because the education of cardiac patients within and outside health care facilities can significantly help reduce the number of myocardial infarction patients.
